Kevin Feige comments on the possibility of Hulk solo films

With the Marvel Cinematic Universe expanding so much as it has been, it feels like almost every hero under the Marvel banner will get their own movie. Well, almost every hero. Take the Avengers for instance. We’ve gone through the Iron Man and Captain America trilogies, along with Thor’s third film about to be released. The thing on most fans minds are, when will Hulk finally get his due? Of course we’re definitely excluding Ang Lee’s 2003 Hulk film with Eric Bana as Bruce Banner. Granted, there was 2008’s Incredible Hulk which starred Edward Norton and is within the MCU, but it kind of fell off after that.

Since then, Mark Ruffalo has taken up the role as Bruce Banner in the Avengers films, as well as the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok. Yet even still we don’t have any certainty regarding another solo film for Hulk with Ruffalo. In a recent interview with IndieWire, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige had a few things to say in regards to this:

“I think that back and forth continues, and I don’t know if it will ever happen. But I will tell you, it makes me very, very happy going from a world, ten years ago, when people were questioning the viability of Hulk in a standalone film, to getting asked every other interview, ‘When will there be another standalone Hulk?'”

To be honest, he doesn’t really give a straight answer at all, as he eludes it to be a possibility and nothing else. One can only hope that he eventually sees the light and what everyone is asking for. Until then, we’ll just have to enjoy the Hulk in short bursts.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3rd.
